2012/12/18: LMSAL Evolving Surface-Flux Assimilation Model: Version 2: read about a major revision of the assimilation code and the resulting changes in the SSWIDL PFSS package based on it.

N.B. As of 2012/11/02, the PFSS modeling on these web pages is based on a new assimilation run of MDI, HMI, and SOLIS data. This run corrects for instrumental artefacts in HMI and for small coordinate-system errors in the assimilation code that led to an anomalous flux budget for the polar regions that accumulated slowly since the beginning of the assimilation run in 1996. The SSWIDL PFSS package will be updated to use the corrected assimilation data starting in January of 2013.
