This region had the number of 12703 only on one day, April 1, 2018 with the spot area of 10 MSH. It has been spotless since then, producing only minor activities. Note the formation of a sigmoid region to the east, which was also sluggish.

This AR got the NOAA number at 27 Feb 2018 00:00 UT. The maximum size was 30 msh on 27 Feb 2018 and the AR decayed immediately to 10 msh on 28 Feb onward. The most intense flare was B3.3 on 26 Feb.

A series of activities (active region brightenings, filament eruptions) occur following a path from NE limb toward SW. The physical connections between these events are unclear.

2016-01-21T08:00:06 --> 2016-01-21T20:10:06
The sympathetic activities start from a small eruption near AR 12487, followed by a larger eruption in AR 12487. Several activities were observed thereafter involving AR 12488 and 12486.

2015-10-19T18:10:10 --> 2015-10-19T19:20:10
This is the second day in which AR 12434 is classified as a BETA-GAMMA-DELTA. The spot area got a little smaller (260 --> 220 msh). There are multiple areas, small or filament-like, which brighten during this 70 min interval, but nothing leads to a major event. Hence a disappointing region. A minor eruption is seen close to the west limb , which may or may not be related to the minor activity in AR 12434.

2015-10-17T00:00:06 --> 2015-10-19T03:00:06
AR 12434 showed a big growth between 16 Oct and 17 Oct (the spot area from 50 msh to 150 msh). It got promoted from BETA-GAMMA to BETA-GAMMA-DELTA on 18 Oct. However, no major or eruptive flares were seen except that the filament that encompassed the region got activated or illuminated by discrete flares. But even this has ceased. The region may be similar to somebody who got inactive after getting a permanent position.
