Description: We finally saw the spectacular eruption of the filament whose northwestern end was close to AR 12487. Although turbulent motions were occasionally seen prior to the eruption, no systematic upward motions were seen in images. Perhaps spectroscopic observations might have predicted the eruption in advance. The eruption itself was primarily toward southwest, so its potential to affect the geo-space may be limited.
