Description: IRIS observes a microflare in AR 12663 with a five second cadence in coordination with GREGOR. The flare begins with at least two primary bright loops well separated in projection. Then the projected distance between the two loops shrink until they appear to connect. During the apparent connection, the flare reaches its maximum intensity. The spectroscopic slit scans the event and shows an eruption of cool material (blue shifted absorption) in the Mg II line core.
