My twitter comment: Yes, the Sun seems to have waken up with these intense flares up to X2.7 (peak at 08:25 UT on 14 May 2025) in AR 14087. Most of them were eruptive, but not that eruptive. The associated CMEs were not impressive. But the region may loosen up as it gets to Earth strike zone.

Is the Sun waking up again?\r\n\r\nEruptive X1.2 flare from AR 14086, the first X-class flare since March 28, 2025. This is associated with a CME that drives a weak shock wave responsible for a minor SEP event. \r\n\r\nThis video is AIA 211+304 to show both the shock and filament eruption.
