2025-08-30T18:29:56 --> 2025-08-30T21:29:56
A halo CME was observed by LASCO associated with this eruptive M2.7 flare with a potential of geomagnetic impact. The eruption was preceded by the appearance of an S-shaped loop in 131 A channel but by only a minute or two, so the existence of pre-eruption hot flux rope may be not clear in this event. The later flare ribbon traversed the preceding polarity sunspot. A coronal wave, not very strong, accompanied the eruption, possibly being responsible for sympathetic eruptions in the NE direction.

This should be in "flare" category, but I cannot submit the animation to that because the system does not accept the peak time I set (2025-08-19T04:36:00).\r\n\r\nQuiz 1: Was the active region that produced this flare on the front side or far side?\r\n\r\nQuiz 2: Was this flare associated with a major CME?\r\n\r\nAnswer: Listen to what AI says (meaning I am hesitant to answer.)
