2015-03-16T10:10:11 --> 2015-03-16T12:10:11
Yet another eruption from AR 12297. An S-shaped filament is seen before the eruption, which was initially northward and then deflected westward, This probably corresponds a change from radial to horizontal motions. Indeed, the associarted CME looks unimpressive.

2015-03-15T22:30:35 --> 2015-03-16T00:14:59
Compared with the previous eruption, which was incorrectly referred to as the largest geomagnetic effect since 2015 - it should have been "since 2005", the associated flare (M1.2) was somewhat more intense, but the eruptive signatures are weak. The eruption consists of an oval front, which may be a wave rather than material motion. The ribbon emission is seen to extend to north.

2015-03-15T00:30:35 --> 2015-03-15T02:30:35
This is the origin of the St. Patrick's day storm, which recorded Dst ~ -220 nT. The event started off with a jet or surge (C2.4 flare), which seemed to hit a larger filament and then let it go. The main eruption was associated with a C9.1 LDE.

2015-03-14T11:40:11 --> 2015-03-14T12:40:11
This is a minor eruption with most brightening (C2.6 flare) contained within the ejecta. A larger dark filament is seen to be affected, but it does not erupt.

2015-03-01T15:25:11 --> 2015-03-01T16:59:59
An eruption is preceded by another slower outward motion in the adjacent structure to south. Their possible relation should be understood through careful analysis.

2015-03-01T12:15:35 --> 2015-03-01T12:59:59
LASCO detected the first signature of the big CME of backside origin at 12:36. Large-scale loops on a large part of the southeastern limb were disturbed including oscillations.

2015-03-01T05:40:11 --> 2015-03-01T06:38:59
The prominence is seen to erupt with untwisting motions. The eruption was not traced further because of eclipse.

2015-02-28T21:15:35 --> 2015-02-28T21:50:23
According to LASCO data, a big CME was first seen at 21:36 from PA~120 degs. This movie confirms its backside origin. Different parts of large-scale loops brighten with time, and dimming is also noted above them.

2015-02-28T13:30:35 --> 2015-02-28T15:30:35
Eruption of an inverse-S-shaped (as expected in the northern hemisphere) filament in a quiescent region. The movie also shows post-eruption flare ribbons and loops between them.

2015-04-07T06:10:03 --> 2015-04-07T06:50:03
A confined filament activation, much like the type modeled by Toeroek & Kliem.

2015-04-07T00:40:03 --> 2015-04-07T01:58:03
Sigmoidal filament experiences a confined eruption.

2015-04-07T00:40:03 --> 2015-04-07T01:58:03

2015-04-07T00:00:03 --> 2015-04-07T19:40:03
Very quick, small-scale magnetic flux and field line emergence, which then very quickly cancels and dissipates.

2015-04-07T00:00:03 --> 2015-04-07T19:00:03
A prominence/filament dances like a tornado inside a semi-visible coronal cavity on the NE limb of the Sun. Near the end of the movie, you can see the filament possibly starting to lift off. This prominence lies close to a long, narrow, canal-like coronal hole just to the east of the active region AR12318.

2015-02-28T08:55:11 --> 2015-02-28T10:31:11
The eruption goes mostly to south, but a larger area seems to be disturbed, including the region to the east.

2015-04-05T06:20:03 --> 2015-04-05T10:35:03
An eruption from QS west of a large filament is associated with a 'ribbon' on the E side of the filament.

2015-04-05T20:20:03 --> 2015-04-06T00:00:03
Flare and eruption from fairly compact, multipolar region.
