2012-11-29T00:00:03 --> 2012-11-29T07:15:03
A small prominence near S limb develops swirling motions very clearly seen in the plane of the sky. Individual strands form a sea shell like structure. There is an associated coronal cavity which shows as several dark concentric circles with the dark core.

2012-11-27T14:00:03 --> 2012-11-27T18:00:03
A M1.6 flare occurs, and then a filament attempts to erupt but it succumbs to gravity and results in a failed eruption. Or as Sam Freeland would say, "Boingggg" [see the SSW Latest Events webpage].

2012-11-27T00:00:03 --> 2012-11-27T08:00:03
A small, mostly invisible filament next to AR11621 lifts off, causes plasma to be removed from the opposite side of the AR, and is followed by the brightening of an arcade and some related post-eruption loops.

2012-11-22T07:16:03 --> 2012-11-22T13:18:03
The Sun has finally figured it forgot to do something. Happy belated Halloween

2012-11-21T08:02:03 --> 2012-11-21T18:50:03
A peculiar activity is seen in 211A which probably exposes reconnection of an emerging dipole with surrounding field. This activity lasts for several hours and is immediately followed by a flux rope eruption.

2012-11-21T16:40:03 --> 2012-11-21T19:10:03
A flux rope suddenly brightens up on the disk and erupts right away.

2012-11-21T14:36:03 --> 2012-11-21T17:38:03
Coronal loops oscillate being disturbed by a passing coronal wave.

2012-11-21T14:36:03 --> 2012-11-21T17:38:03
Running difference image of a pretty spectacular Thaksgiving Day coronal wave. (A previous annotation has the non-running difference movie of this event.)

2012-11-21T14:36:03 --> 2012-11-21T17:38:03
A rather spectacular coronal wave followed by coronal dimming. An eruption associated with this event is visible in 304A.

2012-11-21T14:36:03 --> 2012-11-21T17:38:03
It took this active regions several flares on the short time interval to finally produce an eruption.

2012-11-21T08:00:03 --> 2012-11-21T22:54:03
This filament eruption would be unremarkable if not the fact that it happens at the pole (in the plane of sky projection) and the flux rope takes off northwards (again, as appears in the projection).

2012-11-25T18:00:03 --> 2012-11-26T00:00:03
An off-limb eruption from a region crossing the W limb couples to a high-latitude S-polar eruption, with defomation of apparently dipped field lines.

2012-11-25T00:20:03 --> 2012-11-25T03:08:03
Filament eruption from just N of a decaying compact AR.

2012-11-24T06:24:03 --> 2012-11-24T11:48:03
A dark structure (apparently a void) rises from the E limb into the corona, and stalls right inside the edge of the AIA fov, gradually fading away.

Movie
